Foxconn Advances Space Ambitions with Launch of Second-Generation LEO Satellites

Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer Foxconn has successfully launched its second-generation low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion into the space technology sector.

The satellites, named PEARL-1A and PEARL-1B, were deployed aboard a Falcon 9 rocket operated by SpaceX from California. The launch represents Foxconn’s continued efforts to diversify beyond its core electronics manufacturing business and establish a presence in the rapidly growing space industry.

According to the company, both satellites have successfully reached their intended orbits and are expected to carry out on-orbit missions over a five-year period. These missions will primarily focus on validating payload technologies, particularly in the areas of communications and space science.
