Fox to Integrate Prediction Market Data Across News Platforms

Fox Corporation has announced a new partnership with Kalshi to integrate real-time prediction market data across its news and streaming platforms, marking a shift in how media organisations present information to audiences.

The collaboration will see Kalshi’s probability-based data featured across FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX Weather, and Fox’s direct-to-consumer streaming service, FOX One. The move reflects a growing trend in media toward using market-driven forecasts to complement traditional reporting.

Bringing Market-Based Insights to News

Prediction markets allow users to trade on the likelihood of future events, generating real-time probabilities based on collective market sentiment. By incorporating this data into its programming, Fox aims to provide viewers with an additional layer of insight into political, economic, weather, and cultural developments.

Kalshi will also collaborate directly with Fox’s production teams to create live data visualizations, enabling broadcasters to present dynamic, up-to-date forecasts during news coverage.

Rising Popularity of Prediction Markets

The partnership comes amid a surge in interest in prediction markets, particularly following the 2024 U.S. presidential election. These platforms have increasingly been used not only for trading but also as tools for gauging public expectations and forecasting outcomes.

According to Kalshi, around 70% of its users primarily visit the platform to view forecasts rather than to place trades. This suggests a growing demand for crowd-sourced probability data as an informational resource.

A New Layer in News Reporting

For Fox, integrating prediction market data represents an evolution in storytelling—blending traditional journalism with data-driven insights. By presenting probabilities alongside reporting, the network aims to offer viewers a more nuanced understanding of unfolding events.

The move also highlights how media organisations are adapting to a data-centric environment, where audiences increasingly expect real-time analytics and interactive information.
